Traveling around the world and taking pictures of the calm and melancholic moments between the loudness. For a static feed of images follow my Instagram.
A photo series that captures the silence of the famous spanish lunch break, la siesta. The buzzing cities such as Valencia here, turn into calm places that seem to affect even nature and architecture. Sometimes it's so quiet that objects seem to sleep.
A road trip through dismal Bulgaria. Climbing on concrete monuments, hiking in the woods, freezing in the mountains and shopping in the suburbs of Sofia. In a nutshell: Exploring a poor present dominated by the soviet past.
My journey to South America in 2016 was my first for a longer period. I traveled alone to explore both my environment and myself. And I found many places beyond the known buzzing megacities, exotic nature and wild life. They often made me feel lost and lonely but also thankful for sustainable experiences. In my photos I wanted to keep that feeling of tranquility, melancholy and peace.
Israel is a one of a kind state in terms of variety, controversy, tension and history. In winter 2016 I’ve experienced the differences of buzzing Tel Aviv and religious Jerusalem, between ancient tradition and modern urban life in Beersheba, between tourism at the dead sea and daily life in Ramallah.
In 2010 Istanbul was ranked as European Capital of Culture. Only seven years later the city is suffering from president Erdogans’ politics, dwindling civil rights and decreasing tourism. I explored and experienced the huge differences inside the megacity and traveled along the Aegean Sea to Thessaloniki.
